Osteoporosis
Centre Research & Development The
Osteoporosis Centre undertakes both commercially sponsored clinical
trials, research of their own and helps co-ordinate NHS and University
research projects involving investigations into Osteoporosis. The staff are
also very involved with teaching and health promotion advice for patients
and colleagues and have good links with the local and National
Osteoporosis Society (NOS). Principal

WOMEN'S SURVEY:

study 3-year study comparing 2 sequences of licensed osteoporosis
treatments. DXA scan of spine hip and forearm.

study looking at the effectiveness and cost effectiveness of screening
for osteoporosis in older women for the prevention of fractures.

COHORT study looking at healthy ageing, DXA scans of total body, spine
and hip.
